About Ann O'Keefe

A resident of Delaware County for twenty years, Ann O’Keefe calls Haverford her home. She was raised in upstate New York and discovered Delaware County while attending Villanova Law School. She graduated from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs after having also attended the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Since she is an only child, her family thought that she would return to the Albany area to live and work. Fortunately, Ann chose to remain here, investing her time and expertise to this community.

Professional

Ann maintains a private law practice focusing on business, estate and trust law. She participates as an arbitrator for the Delaware County Bar Association and has conducted grievance hearings nationwide while serving as the Grievance Chair for U.S. Figure Skating.

Currently, Ann is the U.S. Figure Skating’s Administrative/Legal coordinator and sits as one of the fifteen person national Board of Directors. O’Keefe works on a wide range of legal and policy-related issues and understands how to negotiate with effectiveness.

Community and Public Service

O’Keefe’s commitment to volunteerism and to public service is demonstrated locally and nationally. Here in Delaware County, Ann ran a spirited campaign in 2005 as the endorsed Democratic Party candidate for Register of Wills in which she attained the highest voter percentage for a Democrat before last year’s election of Congressman Joe Sestak. Serving those with special needs -- mental disabilities and our aging population – is a personal mission for Ann. In Wayne, she serves on the board of directors for PLAN of PA, a non-profit that provides services to families with an adult child with a mental disability or a brain injury. She also volunteers and supports Mid-County Senior Services, with six locations in throughout Delaware County. Ann shares her time counseling seniors with estate and health care issues. And in her own Haverford Township, it’s not unusual to hear a boy or girl call out and say … “Coach Ann”. A former competitive figure skater and hockey player, Ann has shared her passion, enthusiasm and expertise teaching ice skating and coaching hockey skills with youngsters from all over the region.
